In collaboration with PracticeForte in Singapore, I offer mediation and conflict clarification for companies and teams working between Germany and Singapore.
International cooperation can present great opportunities, but often comes with communication problems: differing expectations, cultural nuances, or legal frameworks can stand in the way of collaboration. On 1 August 2025, Baumbach Mediation and Singapore-based PracticeForte Pte. Ltd. formalised their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a dedicated Singapore Desk.
The cooperation combines my experience in mediation and conflict clarification with PracticeForte’s network. I support German and Singaporean companies, organisations and project teams in cross-border work. In business relations and project teams, I help overcome differences in expectations, cultural nuances and legal frameworks, and build resilient relationships.

Working closely with PracticeForte’s network of experienced mediators and advisors, I provide:

The Singapore Convention on Mediation – a game changer
The Singapore Convention on Mediation (in force since 2020) provides a global legal framework for the enforcement of settlement agreements resulting from international commercial mediations. 60 states have signed the Convention, among them the USA, China and India; 24 of these are contracting parties (status: September 2026). The Convention enhances the credibility and enforceability of mediated agreements across borders.
For companies, this means greater legal certainty and increased confidence in using mediation to resolve international disputes. Businesses no longer need to rely solely on domestic courts or arbitration to enforce outcomes. Instead, they gain access to a flexible, confidential, and cost-effective process that helps preserve commercial relationships and avoid lengthy litigation.
By addressing a main concern in international mediation, enforceability, the Convention significantly strengthens mediation as a reliable alternative to court proceedings in global commerce.
The European Union and Germany have not signed the Convention to date. Even now, the Convention is helping to reinforce mediation as a trusted and credible method for resolving cross-border commercial conflicts.
